Just like any company that’s been around a while, some days a concern lands in our inbox. We don’t love those days — but we’d rather talk about them openly than pretend they never happen. Long ago we made a deliberate choice: hire our own people instead of handing you off to third parties, so we can stand behind the Cook experience from sales to construction to delivery. Things still don’t always go exactly to plan, and sometimes a building doesn’t work the way a customer expected. That’s fair — every company deals with it. Here’s what we hear most, and what we actually do about it.
Concern 1: “Delivery is taking too long.”
This one genuinely varies — mostly by season and by whether you chose a ready-built building or a custom order. When purchase volume spikes, the delivery schedule can run longer than we first projected. When that happens, we try to keep you updated rather than leave you guessing. Buying off a local dealer lot is usually the quicker route; adding custom sizes, colors, or features can add a few weeks.
So why wait? Because the same things that take time are the things that make the building last: a lifetime warranty on all treated components, real quality control, and our own employees handling delivery instead of a third party. We’d rather get it right than get it there fastest. See why buyers choose Cook.
Concern 2: “I can’t get a price without talking to someone.”
This is the one that’s changed the most since we first wrote this. You can now see starting cash prices for every building style and size right on the site — no phone call required to get in the ballpark. Start at $2,315 and browse by style or by size.
What we still do by conversation is the fit: matching the right style, size, and options — and, if you want it, a Rent-to-Own — Ask Your Dealer plan — to your space and budget. Your local dealer and our sales team handle that part, because the “right shed for you” depends on more than a sticker price.
Concern 3: “Why won’t you build on-site?”
Fewer customers hit this than you’d expect — we’ve fit buildings into some tight spots over the years. But we build in our own facilities on purpose, for two reasons: quality control, and your convenience. You still get the custom options and the same build quality you’d get from a crew in your backyard — without a crew in your backyard for days or weeks, without tools and equipment taking over the yard, and without the mess.
Our buildings are rated for ground contact, so you generally don’t need a concrete foundation unless you’d prefer one. Not sure it’ll fit? Schedule a free site check and we’ll confirm before anything’s built.
We’ll never please everyone — but no matter which of our states you’re in, you get one number and a real person on the other end, whether you’re buying, checking a delivery date, or raising a concern:
We know what we’re here to do, and we do it well: build a durable place for more of your stuff.
